Announcement of Miracle 19 December 2009

We were expecting the announcement of the acceptance of the miracle and decided to gather at the centre from 6pm awaiting the good news. Approximately 100 people attended and enjoyed chatting and refreshments with the expectation that the phone would ring at any moment. Finally it happened at 11pm and there was great jubilation! The church bell was rung so that the whole town of Penola was aware that something important was happening at the Mary MacKillop Penola Centre.

Everyone is very excited and happy with the news which will enable the canonisation to proceed.

On Sunday morning Father Vinh celebrated mass after which the parishioners and their friends again visited the centre with many congratulatory messages received.

The centre has had a steady stream of visitors - all very happy about the news.
